Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has released its much awaited Nexus family devices including Nexus 6 Smartphone, Nexus 9 tablet, and its first device with Android TV, Nexus Player. On top of it, Google has bundled these products with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. The price range of Nexus family devices rivals that of comparable Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) products unlike the low-end price range of earlier Google Products.
Google has teamed up with different mobile device manufacturers for the Nexus Family starting with its partnership with Motorola for Nexus 6. Nexus 6 comes with a 6-inch HD display, aluminum contoured frame, and 13-megapixel camera. The device is packed with dual front-facing stereo speakers, which makes it great for gaming and entertainment.
Another exciting feature of the phone is its Turbo Charger that allows up to 6 hours of usage after charging your phone for 15 minutes. Nexus 6 comes with a tag price of $749 in Canada and is available for pre-order later this month. The key point to consider is that Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 6 Plus is available at an initial price of $749 for 16GB and up to $949 for its top model, which indicates that Google is ready to compete with the market leaders with its latest Nexus family devices and that too at an equal price footing.
For Nexus 9, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has collaborated with HTC to offer 8.9-inch screen tablet and keyboard folio with magnetic attachment to the tablet. Nexus Player is rather the revolutionizing offering from the company as it comes with Android TV, which works perfectly fine for music, movies, and video streaming. It enhances the overall gaming experience and allows you to play on your HDTV or rather the phone itself.
Nexus 6 would be available for pre-order later this month whereas both Nexus 9 and Nexus Player would be available for pre-order from October 17, 2014.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Android 5.0 Lollipop is the largest release from the tech company with over 5,000 new APIs for android developers and it comes with a consistent appearance through a wide range of devices.
