When it comes to the top defensive stock picks of Jim Cramer for the last 30 days, Kimberly Clark Corp (NYSE:KMB), Dominion Resources, Inc. (NYSE:D), AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE:AZO) have made it to the list. For investors looking for stable returns and earnings, these stocks might serve the purpose.
Cramer is a huge fan of Kimberly Clark Corp (NYSE:KMB) considering the fact that he prefers it over The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG). In Mad Money’s lighting round when asked about The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG), Cramer said, “I like this one and Kimberly-Clark (KMB). I’d probably prefer Kimberly.” He preferred KMB because of its comparatively limited exposure in Europe adding, “They are both terrific. KMB has less (exposure to) Europe, so I might favor KMB right now.”
Dominion Resources, Inc. (NYSE:D) is another defensive stock in Cramer’s list and while talking about NextEra Energy Inc (NYSE:NEE) in the lighting round, Cramer said, “That’s a growth utility. I think that stock is good but not as good as Dominion Resources (D).” Dominion Resources, Inc. (NYSE:D) was in Cramer’s favorite stock list for the month of September primarily because of its high dividend yield (3.46%) and faithful history of making dividend payments.
AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE:AZO) is the third stock on Cramer’s defensive stock picks and he mentioned it at least twice during the last 30 days. He said on Mad Money that the stock has a history of coming short on its earnings but this might be good time to purchase the stock while its trading low. In addition to it, he further added that the company might be growing quite quickly but he would prefer buying the stock once it cools off a bit. The shares of the company trade at $511.45 at P/E ratio of 15.81 and have a current market capitalization of $16.45 billion.
