Berkshire Hathaway even indicated that the company is buying stakes in Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHTR). CHTR currently forms 0.33% of the investment portfolio of Berkshire Hathaway. The company has a market cap of $16.91 billion and its shares have been traded for $155.61 recently. Charter Communications reported revenue of $2.3 billion for the second quarter with a 7.9% improvement in its adjusted EBITDA YOY. Net loss for the quarter stood at $45 million as compared to $95 million in the same period last year.
In addition to Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHTR), Buffet has increased stakes in Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) with 15,000,928 shares worth $733 million, as stated in 13F filing. Berkshire Hathaway increased its stake in Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) by 37% and now it accounts for 0.68% of the current portfolio of the hedge fund. The current market cap of Verizon Communications is $202.16 billion with current share price of $48.80 and P/E ratio of 10.37. Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) has a current dividend yield of 4.34%. Verizon Communications reported EPS of $1.01 for the second quarter 2014 as compared to $0.73 for the same quarter last year. The net revenue for second quarter was $31.5 billion with a 5.7% growth as compared to the same period last year.
Suncor Energy Inc. (USA) (NYSE:SU) is another major mover in Berkshire Hathaway’s portfolio with an additional purchase of 27%. Berkshire Hathaway currently has 16,458,330 shares of Suncor Energy Inc. (USA) (NYSE:SU) worth over $701 million, as per the 13F filing. Suncor Energy Inc. (USA) (NYSE:SU) amounts for 0.65% of the current portfolio of Berkshire Hathaway. Suncor Energy Inc. (USA) (NYSE:SU) has a market cap of $57.78 billion with P/E ratio of 14.91 and Dividend yield of nearly 2%. Suncor Energy is an integrated energy company and it works through its several subsidiaries. Its shares are traded at around $38.43 with P/E ratio of 14.91 and the stock has witnessed an upward rally since August 14, 2014.
